I have been visiting my hometown this weekend. There are a lot of changes coming up. Old houses are planned to be demolished and replaced with something else. It is called development but I don't know. I am not against improvement but some things are better untouched or taken care of in a gentle way. Such as this old forgotten outhouse. I bet noone recognise it but if it was demolished everyone will miss it. I bet noone owns it.

Archipelago by car
I miss the boat I had although I know it took a lot of work to get it in the water every Spring. My youngest son visited last weekend and we went for a ride in the archipelago of Stockholm. However all roads are drawn in the middle of the big islands. Too far to spot any water. Except at bridges. We managed to peek out here and there and watch the sea at a ferry berth and a marina. And a part of the trip was made with two ferries. A castle came our way. I was there last year and found it totally wrapped with a blue net for construction work. This year at least the front façade was finished. Almost.
My "boat" firmly tied up.
Some weren't ready yet

Back side still going on

8,5 cm joy
Recently I managed to win an 8,5 cm (same as 85 mm, you inch people) Nikon lens for my Nikon S rangefinder camera. I've found it to be a pure joy to shoot pics with this extraordinary lens. The viewfinder is a Leica universal viewfinder and the soft release is a newly produced copy of a Nikon original.
Nikon S with 8,5 cm/2.0 lens, Leica universal viewfinder VIOOH and Nikon AR-1 copy soft release.
1200 grammes of pure photographic joy. (2.646 pounds if you don't have a metric mindset.)

Demolition
A building connected with my family history is soon to be transformed into parking lots. My daddy worked at the rail yard for some years and we often went down to the staff dressing rooms to have a shower. Wether we needed it or not. We had only a zinc bowl in the kitchen at home in those days. Before my daddy worked at the rail yard he was at the locomotive stable. Last weekend we returned to both places to have som pics.

Lessons learned
On May 3 I was invited for a conference at my previous contract, a project at Swedish Space Corporation. We were supposed to take notes about lessons learned during the project. In the end the mission was succesful but the road there was full of disasters. We discussed how to avoid them next time. We rounded up with a dinner downtown Stockholm at a nice restaurant. Here are som pics again.

Labour Day - a day at work
On May 1st i went to see my grandkids. When I arrived there they were occupied setting up at trampoline with a security net. When finished they jumped of course and pretty soon disagreed on whos turn it was to jump. Parents had to pause the event.
Next project was to dig a hole for a new sand box. Even here there was disagreement about whos turn it was to use the spade. Parents are not born negotiators but will earn the skill swiftly. Here are som pictures from sunny day in Björkvik.
